SAN DIEGO, Aug. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in defense, national security, and global markets, announced today its role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) during the Japan Flight Test Experiment (JFTX)-01, conducted March 17 and 19 off the East Coast of the United States.

JFTX-01 marks an important step in the testing of Japan’s Aegis System Equipped Vessel (ASEV) Shipset 1, validating next-generation radar and missile defense capabilities. In collaboration with MDA and JMSDF, Kratos provided target vehicles for two tracking events, enabling the SPY-7 radar, a key next generation component of the Aegis Weapon System, to successfully detect, track, and deliver simulated engagement solutions. The exercise generated key datasets supporting system performance evaluation and risk reduction ahead of future ASEV development milestones.

“Our team’s proven ability to rapidly deliver reliable, mission-relevant target vehicles was central to the success of JFTX-01,” said Dave Carter, President of Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services. “Kratos target vehicles provide realistic threat representation, ensuring allied navies can test and validate advanced tracking and engagement solutions with confidence.”

JFTX-01, led by MDA, showcased ongoing technological cooperation between Japan and the United States. Kratos target vehicles enabled the SPY-7 radar, built on technology derived from MDA’s Long Range Discrimination Radar, to collect critical data on search, detection, identification, and tracking in complex operational environments. The two live tracking events concluded with virtual target engagements, providing Japan and its partners with datasets needed to advance shipboard missile defense and inform future system deliveries.

“At Kratos, we are dedicated to investing in and deploying real, mission-relevant products and systems that strengthen the capabilities of the U.S. warfighter and our allies,” said Eric DeMarco, President and CEO of Kratos. “Our history of rapid development and fielding, combined with affordability as a technology, ensures that systems like Aegis are tested using operationally relevant target vehicles leading to maximum tactical readiness. This JFTX-01 achievement reaffirms Kratos’ leadership in advancing national and global security.”

Kratos Defense & Security (KTOS) – That Didn’t Take Long

Friday, August 07, 2026

Refer to the full report for the price target, fundamental analysis, and rating.

From Opportunity to Reality. Less than 48 hours after speaking of these potential opportunities (among a bunch of other opportunities), Kratos has been awarded a U.S. Army contract related to the Javelin Missile System, and Kratos partner Boeing announced it has been awarded a funding contract to begin supplying long-range JDAMs that incorporate Kratos turbojet engines.

JDAM. The Air Force awarded Boeing a $75 million production contract to begin supplying long-range JDAMs. The long-range variant adds a Kratos TDI-J85 turbojet providing 200 pounds of thrust to enable jets to attack from a much safer distance. The 2027 National Defense Authorization Act includes about $277 million for 1,150 upgraded JDAM guidance tail kits with M-Code GPS for the legacy munitions. Industry experts note the new version will cost far less than more exquisite stand-off munitions, so they should be considered as an affordable mass capability, playing right into Kratos’ key strengths, in our opinion.

Advanced Turbomachinery Successfully Validated Ahead of Integration into Next-Generation Missile Propulsion System

SAN DIEGO, July 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in the defense, national security and global markets, today announced that it has successfully developed, tested, and delivered advanced turbomachinery supporting development of Lockheed Martin’s advanced ramjet propulsion system.

Kratos designed a compact, high-performance turbomachinery solution that harnesses ram air energy to support propulsion system operations. This self-regulating design delivers a superior size and weight solution compared to alternative approaches, contributing to the overall performance and affordability objectives of the program. Prior to integration into the propulsion system, Kratos completed a comprehensive standalone turbomachinery test campaign to validate operating points, component durability, and performance.

The successful validation of Kratos’ turbomachinery contributed to the broader propulsion system’s testing, which validated the propulsion system’s readiness to advance toward flight testing. Representatives from Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army’s Aviation and Missile Center were present to witness the propulsion system test, which demonstrated that the missile’s core propulsion is a validated capability ready to support near-term fielding plans.

“Kratos is a leader in propulsion technology, dedicated to the rapid development, demonstration and deployment of innovative solutions,” said Stacey Rock, President of Kratos Turbine Technologies. “Our philosophy is to collaborate with industry leaders who share our mission of delivering cutting-edge technologies and capabilities to market quickly and cost-effectively. This opportunity with Lockheed Martin has been highly successful and represents a cornerstone of our long-term strategic initiatives.”

Kratos has and continues to invest in technology and infrastructure to support its growing family of turbomachinery products for advanced propulsion applications. At Kratos, affordability is a technology, and the company’s internally funded research, development, and capital investments enable rapid delivery of high-performance solutions that address the nation’s most challenging defense requirements.

PDF VersionKratos to provide Mobile Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) Platforms Designed to Support Critical National Security Mission

SAN DIEGO, July 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in the defense, national security and global markets, today announced it has been awarded a sole-source, single award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for approximately $156 million, by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Secure Transportation (OST), in support of Project Solar Shield.

Under this new contract award, Kratos will provide mobile Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) platforms designed to support OST’s critical National Security mission. The Office of Secure Transportation is responsible for the safe and secure ground and air transportation of nuclear weapons, weapon components, and special nuclear materials, as well as other missions supporting U.S. national security.

To address emerging threats to these operations, OST requires a mission-ready mobile platform capable of detecting, tracking, identifying, and responding to potentially hostile unmanned aircraft systems in real time. Unlike traditional fixed-site defense infrastructure, Project Solar Shield is designed to provide a dynamic mobile C-UAS capability that can support mission requirements wherever OST operations occur. The program will leverage commercial and government best-in-class C-UAS technologies, to provide a layered defense posture supporting OST personnel and mission requirements.

Kratos was selected following a rigorous technical evaluation and was identified as the provider capable of meeting OST’s technical, cost, schedule, operational, safety, redundancy, integration, and long-term sustainment requirements. Kratos’ engineer-to-order approach combines C-UAS system, mobile platform design, command-and-control, and advanced power management technologies into a fully integrated solution, built for demanding threat and mission environments.

“Project Solar Shield represents a significant milestone for Kratos and the broader government C-UAS market,” said Dave Carter, President of Kratos’ Defense & Rocket Support Services Division. “As the first large scale government production contract of its kind built around this integrated approach, the program demonstrates the value of combining C-UAS, mobile platform design, command-and-control capabilities, and resilient power management into a single mission-ready solution. The resulting platform provides OST with a highly modular and scalable mobile C-UAS capability, designed to support evolving mission requirements across the continental United States.”

Eric DeMarco, President and CEO of Kratos, said, “We believe that Kratos’ technology, system and integration capabilities in the C-UAS mission area are industry leading, and also our ability to mass produce large quantities of relevant systems at an affordable cost. Our entire organization is proud to have received this program award to protect and secure critical United States assets and infrastructure.”

Work under this new program award will be performed at secure Kratos facilities. Due to security-related and other considerations, no additional information will be provided related to this contract award. Work under the contract is expected to begin immediately.

Elroy Air Recently Announced a Demand Pipeline Exceeding 1,400 Aircraft

Kratos to Increase Current Sacramento Workforce of 450+ High-Tech Employees as Production of Elroy Air’s Autonomous Cargo Aircraft Accelerates

SAN DIEGO, July 20, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: KTOS), a Technology Company in the Defense, National Security and Global Markets, today announced that it will manufacture Elroy Air’s Chaparral autonomous cargo aircraft in its expanding Sacramento, California production facility, supporting increasing demand across commercial logistics and defense markets while expecting to further grow its regional workforce of 450 high-tech employees by more than 50 as Chaparral production ramps.

The Chaparral is a hybrid-electric, vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) autonomous cargo aircraft designed to transport more than 500 pounds of payload with a maximum range of up to 450 miles without requiring traditional airport infrastructure. The system is designed to support commercial middle-mile logistics while also providing a flexible, autonomous resupply capability for military operations.

The announcement marks the transition from strategic manufacturing partner to production execution following Elroy Air’s recent announcement of its planned public listing and continued commercial momentum. Kratos is the exclusive U.S. manufacturer of the Chaparral aircraft and will fulfill all U.S. customer orders, with the first production aircraft planned for late 2026. Recent expansion of Kratos’ Sacramento manufacturing operations provides the production capacity necessary to support anticipated increases in aircraft deliveries.

Located within driving distance of Elroy Air’s headquarters, the expanded Sacramento facility strengthens collaboration between the two companies while increasing manufacturing capacity for one of the industry’s most advanced autonomous cargo aircraft. The expansion will drive additional hiring across aircraft technicians, composite manufacturing specialists, assemblers, engineers, production operations, quality assurance, and program management positions, bringing Kratos’ Sacramento-area workforce to more than 500 employees.

Steve Fendley, President of Kratos’ Unmanned Systems Division, said, “At Kratos, we have built our business around rapidly transitioning advanced unmanned aircraft from development into affordable, scalable production. Chaparral represents another example of Kratos leveraging its proven manufacturing capability, established supply chain, and experienced workforce to help bring an innovative aircraft into production at scale. As demand continues to build, our expanding Sacramento facility is well positioned to support both commercial and defense customers while creating additional high-value aerospace jobs in California.”

Dr. Andrew Clare, CEO of Elroy Air, said, “Demand for Chaparral is accelerating across defense, rapid response and commercial logistics and meeting it requires manufacturing at scale. Partnering with Kratos lets us build American-made autonomous cargo drones right here in California, at the pace our customers need.”

Elroy Air recently announced a demand pipeline exceeding 1,400 aircraft representing more than $5 billion in potential revenue opportunities from leading logistics and aviation companies, including Bristow Group, Barq Group, SLI, and FedEx. The company has also supported defense programs with the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force for more than six years, demonstrating the growing dual-use market opportunity for the Chaparral platform. The company also recently announced plans to become a publicly traded company, positioning it to accelerate commercial-scale production.

Kratos continues to expand its national manufacturing footprint to meet increasing demand for affordable, mission-ready unmanned systems supporting U.S. and allied defense priorities, while enabling the production of innovative dual-use technologies serving both commercial and government customers.

Kratos Defense & Security (KTOS) – Building Momentum

Friday, July 17, 2026

Joe Gomes, CFA, Managing Director, Equity Research Analyst, Generalist , Noble Capital Markets, Inc.

Refer to the full report for the price target, fundamental analysis, and rating.

Momentum. Recent awards, facilities expansion, world events, and increasing defense spending worldwide are combining to provide positive momentum to Kratos’ business, in our view. With proven, existing products focused on key areas of new Defense priorities, we continue to believe Kratos is well-positioned to capitalize on the current operating environment.

$400M Hypersonics. The Company recently received approximately $400 million in funding from the Department of War (DoW) related to certain hypersonic systems and other National Security related programs. Notably, beginning in June and both increasing and accelerating into July, Kratos is seeing significant funding from the DoW, which is expected to accelerate the Company’s organic growth rate, increase operating cash receipts, while reducing customer receivables, inventory, and assets where Kratos had previously “leaned forward” to ensure Kratos met or exceeded customers’ schedule-related and other expectations.

Kratos’ Expanded Pennsylvania Operations Accelerate Development and Large-Scale Mass Production of Mil-Spec Hardware to Strengthen National Security

SAN DIEGO, July 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company specializing in defense, national security and global markets, today announced the opening of a 167,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in York, Pennsylvania. The plant expands Kratos’ existing Pennsylvania operations, which now span three facilities and employ more than 440 people, supporting a growing portfolio of critical national security programs. Additionally, Kratos announced plans to purchase new state-of-the-art equipment, totaling over $7 Million, to further expand production capability.

The new facility and planned investments in manufacturing equipment significantly increase Kratos’ production capacity to meet accelerating customer demand for advanced defense systems while reinforcing the company’s commitment to strengthening the U.S. defense industrial base through rapid innovation and mission-speed production.

Kratos’ Pennsylvania operations engineer, manufacture and test mission-critical, military-grade hardware supporting certain of the nation’s highest-priority air defense, missile, radar and counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) initiatives. Including the new facility, Kratos’ Pennsylvania operations actively support C-UAS initiatives by delivering complex equipment for directed energy weapons, missile transporters, mobile missile launcher systems, hypersonic systems and strategic system radar platforms.

Tom Mills, President of Kratos C5ISR Division, said, “Leveraging proven manufacturing methodologies and advanced production technologies, Kratos’ Pennsylvania operations recently completed delivery of highly engineered solutions for both High Power Microwave (HPM) and High Energy Laser (HEL) programs. These efforts included the design, manufacture and testing of specialty structures and components that enhance system mobility and survivability, along with system integration involving custom mechanical assemblies, actuators, thermal management and electrical subsystems. This new Kratos facility and investment will both expand and accelerate our capabilities in additional mission critical national security programs, including strategic systems”.

“Kratos is committed to building the Arsenal of Freedom by investing in the people, facilities and manufacturing capabilities needed to deliver critical systems, at scale, to our customers faster than ever before,” said Eric DeMarco, President and CEO of Kratos. “This expansion marks another important milestone in continuing to grow Kratos’ capability to provide mil-spec hardware for national defense and mission critical programs. Pennsylvania has proven to be an exceptional manufacturing hub, including a highly skilled workforce, and this investment positions Kratos to continue delivering affordable, high-performance, leading technology systems that address our nation’s most pressing security challenges. Kratos’ ability to manufacture highly complex hardware at production scale—where quality, precision and reliability are mission-critical—continues to differentiate our Company as a trusted partner to the U.S. Department of War and allied customers.”

The new facility and related manufacturing equipment provides expanded space and capabilities for advanced manufacturing, systems integration and testing, enabling Kratos to scale production while meeting increasing customer requirements for speed, affordability and performance.

Kratos’ expansion in Pennsylvania represents the company’s continued investment in American manufacturing and its commitment to delivering warfighter-ready capabilities that outpace evolving threats while strengthening the nation’s defense industrial base.
