SAN DIEGO, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in defense, national security and global markets, announced today that it has been awarded a contract valued at more than $20 million to deliver mobile satellite communication (SATCOM) gateways for a defense customer in Asia.

Around the world, fixed communications infrastructure is becoming increasingly vulnerable to emerging threats. Recent conflicts and contested environments have shown that stationary SATCOM facilities can be easily targeted or disrupted, and modern operations often face denied spectrum and damaged public networks. These conditions highlight a critical need for defense organizations to deploy mobile SATCOM gateways that can maintain secure, reliable connectivity when traditional systems fail. With this capability, warfighters gain access to real‑time situational awareness and mission‑critical data where and when it matters most.

As part of the system, Kratos will deliver its rapid‑deployable, truck‑mounted Trifold® transportable antennas that can be deployed without any special tools and ready to discretely transport at a moment’s notice. These Trifold® antennas are integrated into the mobile SATCOM hub that provides high‑throughput, dependable communications in dynamic field environments.

The turnkey system also incorporates a shelter containing baseband platforms and advanced monitoring software, including Kratos’ Compass® product for complete monitor‑and‑control (M&C) of mission‑critical networks, and Kratos’ Monics® product for spectrum monitoring and interference detection, forming a cohesive and resilient mobile gateway tailored for defense operations.

This award strengthens Kratos’ position as a leader in transportable antennas and ground system technologies. The program also expands Kratos’ presence in the Asia-Pacific region and reinforces the company’s role as a trusted provider of advanced, resilient communications systems for defense applications worldwide.

“This capability is ultimately about giving operators on the ground what they need most: dependable communications they can count on in the middle of fast-moving missions,” said John Chay, Vice President of Business Development in Asia, at Kratos. “When fixed infrastructure is compromised, this mobile gateway lets warfighters stay connected, aware, and supported wherever the mission takes them.”

Kratos Recently Ordered Long-lead Components for Spartan Engines

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 24, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in defense, national security, and global markets, today announced an allocation of its expanded Spartan engine production capacity to support Boeing’s Joint Direct Attack Munition Long Range production program with TDI-J85 (J85) engines.

This month, the U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing a $75 million Undefinitized Contract Action (UCA) to acquire the BSU-111/B Payload Delivery Unit (PDU) Joint Direct Attack Munition Long Range (JDAM LR), a precision-guided munition that can travel over 300 nautical miles with a 500-pound class (226-kilogram) payload. The Kratos J85 engine has been selected as the engine source to power the munition, enhancing the affordable precision-strike capability with our high-volume, low-cost, military-grade propulsion systems for the U.S. military and allied partners.

“National security priorities demand affordable mass and resilient, domestic supply chains,” said Steve Fendley, President of Kratos Unmanned Systems. “Kratos’ internally funded and proactive supply-chain investments ensure we are not just preparing for future demand, and we are actively manufacturing the high-volume propulsion systems our customers require today.”

The J85 engines are produced in Kratos’ advanced 22,500-square-foot Propulsion Manufacturing Facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, which is fully operational and optimized to sustain full-rate production.

To bolster and stabilize the defense industrial base supply chain, Kratos has initiated procurement of long-lead components for Spartan engines to support a large production run for a number of customers and applications in 2027, Boeing JDAM LR being key as the engine was originally designed to support this application. The large run enables economies of scale for cost and to address the published need by the Department of War to expand the U.S. industrial base and especially key technologies such as jet engines. Kratos is also executing a three-phase manufacturing infrastructure plan designed to expand production capacity, enabling rapid responsiveness to emerging customer requirements.

“The operational readiness of our Auburn Hills facility marks a pivotal transition from engineering development to high-rate tactical manufacturing,” said Joseph Kovasity, Senior Vice President of Kratos TDI. “Integrating the Spartan turbojet family into Boeing’s JDAM LR program provides a reliable, scalable, domestically sourced propulsion solution that meets urgent national defense needs.”

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in defense, national security, and global markets, announced today its role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) during the Japan Flight Test Experiment (JFTX)-01, conducted March 17 and 19 off the East Coast of the United States.

JFTX-01 marks an important step in the testing of Japan’s Aegis System Equipped Vessel (ASEV) Shipset 1, validating next-generation radar and missile defense capabilities. In collaboration with MDA and JMSDF, Kratos provided target vehicles for two tracking events, enabling the SPY-7 radar, a key next generation component of the Aegis Weapon System, to successfully detect, track, and deliver simulated engagement solutions. The exercise generated key datasets supporting system performance evaluation and risk reduction ahead of future ASEV development milestones.

“Our team’s proven ability to rapidly deliver reliable, mission-relevant target vehicles was central to the success of JFTX-01,” said Dave Carter, President of Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services. “Kratos target vehicles provide realistic threat representation, ensuring allied navies can test and validate advanced tracking and engagement solutions with confidence.”

JFTX-01, led by MDA, showcased ongoing technological cooperation between Japan and the United States. Kratos target vehicles enabled the SPY-7 radar, built on technology derived from MDA’s Long Range Discrimination Radar, to collect critical data on search, detection, identification, and tracking in complex operational environments. The two live tracking events concluded with virtual target engagements, providing Japan and its partners with datasets needed to advance shipboard missile defense and inform future system deliveries.

“At Kratos, we are dedicated to investing in and deploying real, mission-relevant products and systems that strengthen the capabilities of the U.S. warfighter and our allies,” said Eric DeMarco, President and CEO of Kratos. “Our history of rapid development and fielding, combined with affordability as a technology, ensures that systems like Aegis are tested using operationally relevant target vehicles leading to maximum tactical readiness. This JFTX-01 achievement reaffirms Kratos’ leadership in advancing national and global security.”

Kratos Defense & Security (KTOS) – That Didn’t Take Long

Friday, August 07, 2026

Joe Gomes, CFA, Managing Director, Equity Research Analyst, Generalist , Noble Capital Markets, Inc.

Refer to the full report for the price target, fundamental analysis, and rating.

From Opportunity to Reality. Less than 48 hours after speaking of these potential opportunities (among a bunch of other opportunities), Kratos has been awarded a U.S. Army contract related to the Javelin Missile System, and Kratos partner Boeing announced it has been awarded a funding contract to begin supplying long-range JDAMs that incorporate Kratos turbojet engines.

JDAM. The Air Force awarded Boeing a $75 million production contract to begin supplying long-range JDAMs. The long-range variant adds a Kratos TDI-J85 turbojet providing 200 pounds of thrust to enable jets to attack from a much safer distance. The 2027 National Defense Authorization Act includes about $277 million for 1,150 upgraded JDAM guidance tail kits with M-Code GPS for the legacy munitions. Industry experts note the new version will cost far less than more exquisite stand-off munitions, so they should be considered as an affordable mass capability, playing right into Kratos’ key strengths, in our opinion.

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 06, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in defense, national security, and global markets, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center to develop an Enhanced Seeker for the Javelin Close Combat Missile System.

Kratos will develop, build, and test a next-generation infrared seeker that addresses obsolescence in the current Javelin guidance section, improving the lethality of one of the U.S. Army’s most critical close combat weapons for the next decade. The work will be performed at Kratos’ Advanced Manufacturing Center in Birmingham, Alabama, with testing at U.S. Army Government facilities.

“Kratos has made the investments, built the credentialed team, and delivered the capabilities to win, execute, and deliver a production-ready seeker that keeps Javelin lethal for the Soldiers who depend on it,” said Michael Johns, Senior Vice President, Kratos SRE, Inc. “We are proud to support the U.S. Army in sustaining one of its most important close combat weapons, and this award is a reflection of everything Kratos stands for: affordable, mission-critical hardware, delivered.”

Kratos brings decades of missile seeker development heritage to this program and a vertically integrated manufacturing capability that positions the company to deliver production-ready hardware affordably and on schedule. The contract also directly supports the Secretary of War’s priority to strengthen the U.S. munitions industrial base.

Advanced Turbomachinery Successfully Validated Ahead of Integration into Next-Generation Missile Propulsion System

SAN DIEGO, July 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a technology company in the defense, national security and global markets, today announced that it has successfully developed, tested, and delivered advanced turbomachinery supporting development of Lockheed Martin’s advanced ramjet propulsion system.

Kratos designed a compact, high-performance turbomachinery solution that harnesses ram air energy to support propulsion system operations. This self-regulating design delivers a superior size and weight solution compared to alternative approaches, contributing to the overall performance and affordability objectives of the program. Prior to integration into the propulsion system, Kratos completed a comprehensive standalone turbomachinery test campaign to validate operating points, component durability, and performance.

The successful validation of Kratos’ turbomachinery contributed to the broader propulsion system’s testing, which validated the propulsion system’s readiness to advance toward flight testing. Representatives from Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army’s Aviation and Missile Center were present to witness the propulsion system test, which demonstrated that the missile’s core propulsion is a validated capability ready to support near-term fielding plans.

“Kratos is a leader in propulsion technology, dedicated to the rapid development, demonstration and deployment of innovative solutions,” said Stacey Rock, President of Kratos Turbine Technologies. “Our philosophy is to collaborate with industry leaders who share our mission of delivering cutting-edge technologies and capabilities to market quickly and cost-effectively. This opportunity with Lockheed Martin has been highly successful and represents a cornerstone of our long-term strategic initiatives.”

Kratos has and continues to invest in technology and infrastructure to support its growing family of turbomachinery products for advanced propulsion applications. At Kratos, affordability is a technology, and the company’s internally funded research, development, and capital investments enable rapid delivery of high-performance solutions that address the nation’s most challenging defense requirements.
