Concessions are in good standing. In March, Aurania paid its annual concession fee in the amount of US$2,337,345 (C$3,165,349) to maintain its 207,764-hectare land package in Ecuador and has retained its interest in 94 concessions covering 93,300 hectares in Peru. On July 31 and during the first week of August, Dr. Keith Barron, Aurania’s CEO, met with Ecuador’s Minister of Energy and Mines and other government officials to discuss, among other things, options to recover concessions for which Aurania applied in 2016 and were initially held in reserve for Aurania by the government but subsequently not granted. Dr. Barron expects to return to Ecuador in September to resume discussions.
Pursuing an exploration license in France. In parallel with its activities in Ecuador, Aurania has applied for a 51 square kilometer exploration permit in the Brittany Peninsula of northwestern France. The Brittany Peninsula is part of the orogenic Variscan belt. The concession area, situated within the Morbihan Department, has historically been the site of significant high-grade gold finds. Aurania’s geologists visited the area and found numerous blocks of quartz and evidence of past mining activity.

Looking ahead. Through a wholly owned French subsidiary, Aurania Resources applied for an exploration license in the Brittany Peninsula of northwestern France. The concession area has historically been the site of significant high-grade gold finds. Aurania’s interest in the area is attributed to the discovery of several exceptionally high-grade gold samples, two on display at the Natural History Museum in Paris and one in the possession of a private collector, from the same locale. A December 2022 visit to the place of origin revealed abundant quartz vein material on surface along with evidence of mining activity in the 1800s.
Reaching an accommodation in Ecuador. On July 31, Dr. Keith Barron, Aurania’s CEO, will meet with Ecuador’s Minister of Energy and Mines to discuss options to recover concessions that were initially applied for in 2016 but not granted. Because the concessions were initially held in reserve for Aurania, the company conducted airborne geophysics that revealed over 100 discrete magnetic porphyry type targets in the concession area held in reserve. Please refer to our research noted dated June 16, 2023 for more detail.

Aurania Resources Ltd. (TSXV: ARU; OTCQB: AUIAF; Frankfurt: 20Q) (“Aurania” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce it has applied for an exploration license in the Brittany Peninsula of northwestern France through a wholly-owned French subsidiary. The concession area, which includes Hennebont in the Morbihan Department, has historically been the site of significant high-grade gold finds. Placer gold in streams is present in the vicinity of the area.
In December 2022, a very large and high-grade gold specimen was displayed at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle (Natural History Museum) in Paris, France. Museum staff estimates this sample of 3.31 kilograms weight to contain one kilo of gold; it is considered the highest-grade gold sample currently known in France (Figure 1). It consists of vuggy coarse white quartz and native gold. Gold within the vugs is crystalline in nature (Figure 2). The sample is displayed next to a dendritic crystalline gold sample from the same locality (Figures 3 and 4).
Figure 1: High-grade gold specimen in the Natural History Museum, Paris, estimated to contain one kilogram of gold.
Figure 2: Vug in the quartz vein sample, approximately one centimetre across, containing drusy quartz and crystalline native gold.
Figure 3: Gold sample displayed next to a dendritic crystalline gold sample from the same locality.
Figure 4: Description of gold sample at the Natural History Museum in Paris. “Native gold in quartz vein, piece of vein containing more than 1 kilogram of gold, largest sample found in France kept as is, Bank of France deposit (loan)”.
Aurania’s team became aware of the sample last year and approached the museum staff as to its origins and provenance. We were told the samples were purchased by the Banque de France and were on loan to the Museum and that they supposedly came from an old collection. Museum staff supplied us with an article from the Journal du Morbihan, a newspaper dated August 13, 1875 and entitled “Le quartz aurifere dans le Morbihan”, and an extract from a book published by L’Abbe Henry Breuil, described in Wikipedia as a “French Catholic priest, archaeologist, anthropologist, ethnologist and geologist” and one of the principal early investigators of the cave paintings at Lascaux. Breuil examined a sample weighing 1,400 grams “with a little adhering quartz” that was found in 1875 and acquired by a jeweller. The son of the jeweller said his father had also purchased a nugget of 800 grams at the same time. The newspaper article said that two pieces of auriferous quartz were discovered by road builders 400 metres apart and that one was broken into a piece weighing 117 grams and a piece weighing about 900 grams. A third piece of 1,470 grams was found separately and purchased by the jeweller. The description continued, “These ores are gold-bearing quartz, very rich in gold, even excessively so. This gold is not compact, it is crystalline.”
Aurania’s President and CEO, Dr. Keith Barron met with a collector who wishes to remain anonymous, at the Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines mineral show in Alsace in June 2023, who allowed him to examine a one-kilogram specimen of quartz vein material with abundant gold that he claims comes from the same locality in France. The sample (see Figure 5) closely resembles the museum sample and given the estimated grade of 46% gold (460,000 g/t, or 13,416 oz/ton Au) it is almost certainly from the same locality.
Figure 5: Photo of a new gold-bearing quartz sample shown to Keith Barron by a collector and presumably coming from the same area.
A visit to the locality in December 2022 showed abundant quartz vein material on surface and evidence of past mining activity. Part of the site contains deep water filled pits and trenches that were presumably dug in the 19th century. Growth of moss on the quartz rocks is considered “luxuriant” and there is no evidence of modern prospecting or mining activity in the area. There has been no glaciation at the site and so the quartz vein material at surface is more or less “in situ”.
Update on Ecuador
On July 31st, Dr. Barron will meet with Mines Minister of Ecuador, Sr. Fernando Santos to discuss the potential “work around” mentioned in the Company’s press release dated June 19, 2023, to recover part or all of the former “Reserved Areas” that were initially applied for in 2016, and contain a large number of discrete magnetic, porphyry type targets.
At the same time, and in tandem with its exploration project and activities in Ecuador, the Company is excited to actively pursue this extraordinary new gold exploration opportunity in Brittany, France, mentioned above.

Toronto, Ontario–(Newsfile Corp. – July 3, 2023) – Aurania Resources Ltd. (TSXV: ARU) (OTCQB: AUIAF) (FSE: 20Q) (“Aurania” or the “Company”) announces that it has completed the process of renewing certain annual mineral concession applications at its Vicus property in Peru (the “Property”). The Company selected concessions that have higher geological potential, where the application process has been completed and most of the concessions granted.
In total, ninety-four concessions covering an area of 93,100 hectares were renewed and paid using an existing credit of US$277,689 that the Company had with the Instituto Geológico Minero y Metalúrgico or “INGEMMET”. INGEMMET is the Peruvian scientific and management agency division of the Ministry of Energy and Mines. Thirty-six concessions covering a total area of 35,600 hectares were not renewed by the Company.
The credit can only be applied towards concession fees in Peru; it cannot be refunded as cash to Aurania. The renewal covers the period July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 for the Property and the next payment covering the period July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 is expected to occur prior to June 30, 2024.
Although the Company believes that many of the concessions in Peru remain prospective, management determined that the additional annual fees and other costs associated with the Property are not appropriate for a non-core asset. The Company will continue to pursue a potential partner and/or a possible corporate transaction for the Property.
As stated in the press release dated April 12, 2023, independent directors of the Company have agreed to receive all of their director fees in the form of stock options in lieu of cash for each quarterly period in 2023. On June 30th, 2023, each director was granted 14,500 stock options at an exercise price of $0.33 in lieu of their director fees for Q2 2023. An aggregate of 58,000 stock options were granted. The stock options will be exercisable for three years and vest immediately.
Also, in accordance with the Company’s Stock Option Plan, the Board of Directors granted a total of up to 1,990,000 stock options to directors, officers, employees and consultants. The stock options have an exercise price of C$0.33, are exercisable for five years and are subject to customary vesting conditions.

The Lost Cities project. Aurania’s Lost Cities project is in the Cordillera de Cutucu range of Ecuador which represents the underexplored extension of a rich mineral belt believed to run through the Cordillera del Condor range to the south; an area that has been more widely explored and the source of several major gold and copper discoveries. The project is comprised of 42 mineral exploration concessions encompassing 207,764 hectares in southeastern Ecuador and would be difficult to replicate. To date, Aurania’s exploration and drilling activities have underscored its rich mineral potential for epithermal gold-silver, copper porphyries, sediment-hosted copper-silver, and carbonate-replacement silver-zinc-lead-barite mineralization.
Private placement financing closed. Aurania recently closed the third and final tranche of a non-brokered private placement. In the third tranche, the company sold 224,703 units at a price of C$0.46 per unit for gross proceeds of C$103,363.52. An aggregate of 9,253,811 units were sold during the private placement financing for total gross proceeds of C$4,256,753.20.

Toronto, Ontario, April 13, 2023 – Aurania Resources Ltd. (TSXV: ARU; OTCQB: AUIAF; Frankfurt: 20Q) (“Aurania” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce its proposed 2023 exploration activities.
As the concessions for its mineral properties in Ecuador are fully renewed and in good standing for another year after payment of all concession fees in March, the Company is able to develop the 2023 exploration programs.
Aurania attended the Prospector’s and Developer’s Association of Canada meeting (PDAC) in Toronto the first week of March, and we were delighted by the interest shown by several Major companies in our Ecuador asset. As a result of follow-up meetings there are now several companies in our data room. The primary interest has been in our porphyry copper and sediment-hosted copper-silver prospects.
To date, approximately 45% of the Awacha Porphyry Target has been covered by “Anaconda-style Mapping”. This is an intensive mapping technique that was originally developed by the famous Anaconda Copper Company, and has been taught to the Aurania geological staff by consultant Dr. Steve Garwin. This target is approximately 11 km x 5 km in size and was discovered by stream sediment sampling which showed elevated copper and molybdenum in the vicinity of two strong airborne magnetic anomalies. This size is significantly larger than any copper porphyry known and so our working hypothesis is that it is a cluster of porphyries, and similar to the Warintza cluster to the south of our concessions. Intrusive rock types from gabbro to diorite to monzonite and syenite have been mapped. Many of these intrusives show secondary biotite (potassic) alteration and fine quartz veins containing molybdenite or a centre line of chalcopyrite. These so called distinctive “B veins” are classic evidence of mineralized porphyry systems. An independent explanation of B veins can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL0WzJ70z3s
Most of the Awacha area is covered by a unit of black shale which obscures the geology except where streams have cut down through the sediments and exposed the porphyry. The area is also covered by thick jungle. Nevertheless, Terraspec Mineral Spectrometer analysis of soils in the southern half of the anomaly indicates chlorite, kaolinite, white micas, dickite and pyrophyllite which are compatible with porphyry-style alteration. The last two minerals are typically found in the upper part of porphyry systems.
Copper soil anomalies are patchy, which is in keeping with soil results seen near outcropping sediment hosted copper elsewhere on the property. It would seem that copper is easily flushed away from surface soils by the significant rainfall in the area. Molybdenum however, which is essentially insoluble and immobile presents a much more coherent group of anomalies. Half of the Awacha target is still to be sampled for soils.
The reinterpretation of the surficial geology and structure in the areas of outcropping sediment-hosted copper-silver and zinc-lead-silver has generated a large number of compelling drill targets (see press release dated October 17, 2022). This copper-silver-zinc system across the concessions is 38 kilometres in lngth and is open to the north over an additional 15 kilometres. We believe this is perhaps one of the best areas of the property to find an economic ore deposit, considering the numerous high assays already yielded to date. A few areas are highlighted for follow-up, but we concede that a comprehensive programme here is more appropriate for a Major mining company partner.
The Tatasham epithermal gold/porphyry copper target is compelling due to the presence of what are believed to be pipe breccias. The area is, however, in steep terrain and the geology is mostly covered by post-mineral sedimentary cover and does not outcrop. Soil samples along the ridgeline above the previous porphyry drilling campaign yielded anomalous antimony, which is a pathfinder element in gold systems. An additional soil survey is required at Tatasham to extend the antimony anomaly that is still open to the north. Intensive mapping and prospecting are required. The discovery of the epithermal system at Tatasham was unexpected, in our pursuit of a copper porphyry target indicated by geophysics. That porphyry target is still valid, but it may lie at considerable depth, or it may lie laterally.
Over the next six months it is intended to finish the Anaconda mapping on Awacha, and bring it to drill readiness. At the same time, Tatasham will be re-examined in the belief that the antimony anomaly in soils may be due to a subcropping mineralized system. The Fruta del Norte gold deposit was discovered by drilling a geochemical anomaly of antimony, arsenic and mercury which had virtually no gold on surface. Aurania is currently investigating the feasibility of conducting an Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical survey at Tatasham and Awacha.
The proposed exploration programmes are dependent on raising further funding. The proceeds of the current private placement (as announced on March 13, 2023 and March 23, 2023) to date, have been applied to concession fees and general and administrative expenses.

Significant epithermal system discovery. Preliminary results from three holes drilled at the Tatasham porphyry copper target revealed the discovery of a large epithermal system making Tatasham highly prospective for gold. The hydrothermal system at Tatasham is characterized by strong silicification surrounding hydrothermal breccias. While the first three holes are regarded as discovery holes of the epithermal system, additional work is needed before economic drill results can be expected.
The next Fruta del Norte? Tatasham shares similar characteristics with the Fruta del Norte gold deposit which was discovered in 2006 by Aurelian Resources which at the time was headed by Aurania’s CEO, Dr. Keith Barron. Fruta del Norte is approximately 100 kilometers to the south of Tatasham in a similar geological setting. The drilling program at Tatasham revealed silica sinter over a 2.7 kilometer strike length at surface and in drill core. Similar in character to those discovered at Fruta del Norte, zones of oxidized hydrothermal breccia were intersected below the sinter.
